You break me down enzymatic, to dance in decay
Just matter in transformation
I ripple through them information
Hyphae binds the vision you see
Know we are meant to be separate
But under the sediment we're linked in connection
Witness system failure

Must I run to my dreams, enabling inability?

The Bufo began swimming amphibian
Grew to breathe on land
Congenital defense
A chemical chance against large animals
Encroaching mandibles
Rich croaking, foreboding!
Found inedible and left alone
It's power for now unknown
Until our species tested its built-in milk elixir
Why else produce two-sided weaponry?
Deadly toxin, secretly tryptamine
Creature compass, a tool now secondary
Fervor to dissociate
Origin of this urge, quest of feral ancients
Some treaded, some sunk
Outmoded by psychotropic senses
The human really did it!
What an instinct to be given
Scales stretch our surface
Whispering the mystery in combustion
May this fire catch you
Spread to damaged roots
Light it's path through diversion
And finally find the child,
Fossilized deeply missed
And dance back to life
Feel every inch exist!
You will not ever get permission

What's that mirage of blue and green
(In the distance, rippling)
Will I ever reach it?
An oasis in the desert
Is it a sign,
Or our dehydration's cruel hallucination?
It's exhausting watching my body
Just keep on walking a futile odyssey
Golden orb spiders call
I let them weave me to sleep
When the predator turns into prey
I relax my grip, accepting this new way
Then a melody cuts
Extricating me from nullity
I must trek again
But this time I'm without patience to be automation
Jejune eidolon spurning my vessel's orlay
Whether it's a cyclical madness
In the third dimension I stay
Running for what you will never catch
We trade all our time, no chance to rest
That is how they wanted it to be
Prisoners of their reality
Is there an escape?

Mycorrhizae trade aides tiny guys
Spreading hyphae
What display! Must be sci-fi
Send me your mycelium

Virus infecting, unrelenting
Sweat until one prevailing eats another
Hieroglyphs scarring up our surface
Silica eradicated
But moist deep underneath
The DNA to replicate again
Flora and fauna stand in requiem
